I think overall our discussion went very well. People responded to the talking points that we derived from their responses, and brought up new questions and other information we had not considered. For example the topic of company loyalty and marketing was addressed while we were discussing how companies are changing to utilize the technology, and changing to suit an audience with a shorter attention span. I feel that during most of the discussion we did not always address specific points within Chapter’s 6 and 7, but we were examining the issues brought up in those chapters, and compared them to what is going on today. For example when we considered Google as the kind of ideal company Kevin Kelly was describing in Chapter 6, made possible by implementing technology. Whether it was really the technology that made it possible or the company culture is another issue we discussed. When we received our responses to the posted questions, no one had answered any from Chapter 7. Although this was a disadvantage when first addressing the topic, I think we were still able to provoke thoughtful conversation with the questions from Chapter 7 themselves and the other talking points we had come up with. Upon reflection I also realize we didn’t talk much about the keywords, but I feel their absence wasn’t derogative to our resulting conversations. Generally I believed we succeeded in our free form like presentation because we were able to keep the class engaged in discussion of relevant topics brought up in the course and assigned chapters.
